DIY Beauty: Oatmeal Facial Mask
Today's post is a simple oatmeal facial mask that works well for oily skin. Oatmeal has many benefits for your skin. It makes skin smooth and soft, and can calm irritated skin. Oatmeal can also be used to exfoliate skin, which is what we're going to do with this mask.
For this mask you will need:
3-4 tablespoons of ground, uncooked oatmeal (you can grind regular oatmeal in a coffee grinder, or buy PURE oat flour).
Warm water OR warm milk (milk is more moisturizing)
Mix the ground oatmeal with the water/milk until it forms a thick paste. You want the paste to be thick enough that it does not drip off of your face. Make sure the mixture is warm to the touch, but not scalding hot.
Apply the mixture to your face for 10-15 minutes, or until it cools and dries. Wash the mixture off by gently rubbing your face in soft circles until it has completely washed off. Use warm water to wash the mixture off, and then follow up with cold water. This closes the pores and promotes circulation. Use a toner and moisturizer to follow.
Hope this is helpful! Cheers to happy skin!!
