DIY Beauty: Olive Oil Facial Scrub

Thursday, March 01, 2012

I use this scrub whenever my face feels dry and in need of some exfoliating.  Although it does sound gross, olive oil is a great moisturizer for your skin. Using this scrub 2-4 times a month, depending on your skin type, will help to ensure your skin stays soft and moisturized all year round!

For this scrub you will need:
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
0.5 tablespoon of fine sea salt

This will make enough for one use.  Mix the ingredients together and apply to the face.  Massage your face in circular motion to exfoliate.  Do this over a sink or a bowl to catch the salt grains as they fall.  I usually use the leftover scrub to exfoliate my hands as well.  Once you have finished exfoliating, wash your face with a cleanser!

Feel free to use this as a body scrub as well!  Try using coarser grains of salt on your body to help exfoliate places like your feet, elbows and knees.

Cheers to clean faces and soft skin!
